Whatever you decide to do this weekend, make it a great one!

Garner United Methodist Church is holding one of Garner Relay’s biggest — and arguably most delicious — fundraiser today.
The church is having its annual barbecue chicken dinner from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 201 Methodist Drive in the Christian Life Center of the church. Plates are $8, and delivery is available for parties of 10 or more. If you’re even considering getting a plate, here’s a bit of advice: go soon. Word is they sold out early last year.
On Saturday, children can meet the Easter Bunny, decorate and fly their own kites and play on inflatable attractions during the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Lake Benson Park. Children 8 and under will be divided into three age groups to hunt for candy eggs and prizes. Participants should bring their own Easter baskets. There is no rain date for this event — if the weather is bad, candy will be handed out under the large shelter between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. The egg hunt will be held at noon.
Also on Saturday, Garner Grows community farm garden will have its groundbreaking at 10 a.m. Garner Grows bring together people of all ages in an educational-agricultural environment by growing seasonal healthy foods sustainably. The organization has partnered with education, business, and local government groups and is funded through $20/year family memberships, grants, and donations. The land is located on Hwy 70 directly opposite Locked & Loaded Grill.
